Rosa's Thai Cafe, Multiple Locations

A quick disclaimer, this was my first ever Thai. I know, it's disgraceful to go 26 years without ever trying it, but unfortunately that's the situation. I do hope however that it doesn't take away from the fantastic review I'm about to give Rosa's (as well as the fact that I've eaten one since and it was nowhere near as good!).

Located across London, including Brixton, Soho and Stratford, Rosa's is a cute little boutique-style 'cafe' offering a perfectly picked, compact menu made up of the gems you'd expect. As we were in a small group, we ordered a few starters to share. The fried prawns and crispy squid were highlights, although all were served with sweet chilli sauce which became a little bit repetitive after a while. The vegetarian summer rolls were very bland and definitely wouldn't have been my first choice, the strange texture of the wrap was an experience to say the least.

We then come to the main. As it was my first Thai experience, and it had received such raving reviews, I had to order the Chicken Pad Thai. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Perfectly peanutty and complimented with fresh lime, my eyes lit up after the first bite. The problem with this, however, was that the bar was set extremely high. I attempted to order the same from a Thai restaurant in Balham and was greeted with what can only be described as a chicken chow mein with peanut sprinkled on top - it wasn't good. Whether you're a Thai regular or a newbie like me, you have to give it a try.

As you can probably imagine, there was a lot of space left for dessert but Rosa's Thai Cafe, it's a massive thumbs-up from me. I cannot wait to head back.
