Shake Shack, Multiple Locations
Born in Manhattan, Shake Shack is everything you’d expect
from an American fast food joint. Described as a modern day ‘roadside’ burger
stand, they’re fast food with an edge.
I visited the Covent Garden restaurant, so after a quick
look at the menu, you go in, order and are shuffled outside to wait for your food
to avoid congestion. It really is an in-and-out experience, especially in this
branch as there’s no indoor seating. We pulled up a pew outside in the Apple
Market and tucked in.
Not being too creative, we both ordered the same thing, a
hot dog (I think it was the ShackMeister), fries and a coke but it didn’t
disappoint. It was quick, easy and delicious and being sat in the middle of the
bustling Covent Garden added to the experience. It’s reasonably priced too - for
a hot dog, fries and drink you’re looking at around £11.
On the second visit, I had to order a burger just to tick it off the list. I ordered the ShackMeister (below) that was stuffed with cheese and crispy shallots. It was perfectly messy and definitely one I would go back for. So whether you're a hot dog lover or more of a burger fiend, Shake Shack is a must. If you’re in the area and fancy a quick bite, I would definitely recommend it.
