Rossopomodoro, Multiple Locations
With 8 restaurants based all over London, it’s hard to be
too far from a Rossopomodoro restaurant, even if it is a bit of a mouthful to
say (and write, FYI). Born in Naples, the menu is authentic and varied, from
pizza or pasta to brochette or fresh mozzarella. As a virgin to their menu, I
panicked and opted for the Pomodorosa Le Saporite, a long oval pizza with four
different toppings, and a standard Massese pizza.
The not-too-thick, wood-fired base was delicious, everything you’d expect from an Italian chef, it was soft with a crunchy crust and even though it was covered in tomatoes, it didn’t go soggy. The toppings did let it down a little but maybe that was just my bad choice. It was good but it wasn’t great. Perhaps there were too many tomatoes but the combinations just didn’t seem to compliment each other in my opinon.
Since my visit the menu has definitely improved so it’s certainly worth another visit. There’s so much more to choose from so I’ll head back and give you an update.
Rossopomodoro, you get a thumbs-up from me!
