Crosstown Donuts, Multiple Locations

It's not uncommon to stumble past an impressive dessert/donut stand when you live in London. Pretty much every corner has some kind of baked goods, each attempting to outdo the next with some quirky design or feature. My story with Crosstown Donuts starts with a mis-judged visit to Flat Iron in Soho where, after travelling into Central London and fighting through the crowds, we realised the restaurant was shut. Not willing to let go of the Flat Iron dream, we decided to walk to Tottenham Court Road and try for a table there. On the way, our eyes all seemed to meet the same shop. The window filled with a delicious array of donuts, we promised we would pop in on the way back for dessert. And that we did.

Not pictured above as this was a different visit - although if you look closely you can see it in the middle on the shelf), I opted for the glazed creme brûlée (one of my favourite dessert choices) while the others chose from classic raspberry, filled chocolate and apple among others flavours. They were delicious. Each one with delicate details, perfectly flavoured fillings or dough and an elaborate price list which I guess comes with the territory. When I say elaborate, we're talking around £3 for one. The creme brûlée had the fired sugar coating you'd expect and was filled with vanilla creme so while it didn't look the fanciest, it definitely lived up to it's name.

If, like me, you can't resist a sweet treat, I'd definitely recommend popping in. They're located all across London including a fancy little pop-up style pod in the middle of Victoria, so you'll never be too far. Crosstown Donuts, it's a thumbs-up from me!
